Groundhogs and LOA – Strange Relations

Date February 5, 2010

I haven’t posted in awhile, and since so many new folks are subscribing to this thing I thought I’d better keep it in better shape.

The other day was Groundhog Day, and Phil saw his shadow.  Or at least that’s what the dudes in the formal attire and top hats said.  This winter’s been draggin’, I must admit, and I was kinda hoping in the back of my mind that Phil might think things over a bit and maybe make a policy reversal decision later.   But it never happened.

But no matter, I suppose.  One thing I do at this time of the year is start seeds inside for the spring garden.  I focus on green things, as do many others here in my equatorial neighborhood.  Change the view, that’s what you gotta do.

Focusing on the car being stuck in a snowbank in the driveway with a dead battery is okay for immediate purposes.  In fact, it might even save you from a parking ticket if you live on a snow route.  But the second you can afford to switch your attention to the boat show, or maybe your bicycle tuneup, or even your Beefsteak tomato seedlings, I have a feeling you’re probably getting yourself realigned properly.

It’s been quite some time since my last post here, and I wanted to reopen this blog with something truly profound.  Until I can think of something, here’s a random thought:

Despite the fact that my math skills will barely let me keep my checking account balanced, I am a big fan of theoretical physics, quantum mechanics, and lots of other scientific avenues that are hard to spell.  Along with many, many other armchair scientists I have been watching the press releases from the Large Hadron Collider in Europe.  Like any other, I always wonder what’s out there in the cosmos that our little insect-like perspectives can’t quite fathom as of yet.  We’ve come a long way as a species in intellectual terms, despite our lagging socio-political progress.

Many Law of Attraction hard-core devotees will often give it a supreme all-encompassing status.  Although I personally believe it is a very powerful tool, I’m still curious as to what’s out there in the universe.  Does Dark Matter have anything to do with all of this manifesting stuff?  Who’s to say.   Are other unseen and unknown dimensions going about their daily routines right alongside us?  And if they are, do they have dedicated ring tones on their cell phones?  I dunno.  But there is one thing I’m certain of.   As Paul Simon once sang…..”These are the days of miracle and wonder.”

Are You Attracting a Nasty Workplace?

Date April 3, 2009

If you had to put a number on the amount of people who do not feel contented in their work environment, it probably would look like Google’s last few income statements added together. Be it physical conditions, upper management, or even unpleasant co-workers, nearly everyone has had to deal with conditions of employment that are far from ideal. For some the obvious answer is to remove yourself from the negative conditions and find other means of making a living.

More often than not, however, it is our perception of the work environment that is what causes us distress. As is true with other situations, our focusing upon them makes them more prominent in our reality. There is a very powerful tool that is your best defense when dealing with an unwanted industrial environment or situation, and that tool is the Law of Attraction. Being the universal law that it is, you can think of it as being The Swiss Army Knife of business tools.

When we focus on grouchy coworkers, or stressful work environments and other undesirables of the workplace, it tells the universe that our perceptions of reality are “correct” by including these things. Without fail, your work environment will continue being a place of misery, because of your focus upon its miserable characteristics. The Law of Attraction – like a magnet – will bring us exactly what we focus upon and perceive. Every time.

Below are several concepts that, while sounding like a corporate morale manual, are actually ways of making your workday much more tolerable.

Instead of focusing on a rude customer’s arrogance, focus on their problem. Instead of focusing on the factory’s physical conditions, focus instead on something that you find pleasurable. Perhaps you find a sense of achievement in creating the highest quality widget you are able. Instead of focusing on the perceived inept actions of upper management, concentrate on giving the man what he pays you for. Yeah, yeah, this probably sounds like your first day at employee orientation, doesn’t it? But in reality, it is what will change your reality.

Ask yourself this when coming home from work tomorrow. Did I add to my value in the world today? Did the world become a more positive place from my actions? Or did I add to the misery index through my words and my physical output?

Without fail, we receive more of what we focus on. It’s what the universe unfailing does, same as any other natural law. Once you have a basic understanding of how the Law of Attraction functions, there truly is no limit to the situations you can apply it to. By focusing on things that are less negative in your employment environment, you will find your job seeming much less like….”work”.

The Law of Attraction Basics (In Case You Just Tuned In)

Date February 26, 2009

Okay,

Today I am going to cover the basics of what the Law of Attraction is all about.  Many newcomers to this universal law may think the Law of Attraction is a large company that publishes a lot stuff for sale.  True, there are a lot of people who market self-help information that is related to the Law of Attraction, but it’s not all just a bunch of marketing hype.  If that is your perception of it, then you are doing yourself a terrible disservice.  The fact is, you don’t need the latest ebook, or the latest daily affirmation, or anything else to put this incredible tool to work for you.  All you need is something between your ears called a brain.

Let’s go over the basics one more time, because in all the madness that is commonly referred to as mass media we easily lose sight of the important stuff.  In a nutshell, the Law of Attraction has four steps to it.  They aren’t magic, and they apply to everyone, everywhere, every time.

1. Define what it is that you want.  Sometimes we don’t do that part very well.  For example, you may state that you want a bunch of money.  Fine.  But that is a very general request, and general requests just don’t cut it with the universe.  You have to be specific about things.

Why do you want the money?  Do you want to travel the world?  Do you want to buy the biggest house in town?  Do you want to buy your parents a new car?

BE SPECIFIC IN YOUR REQUESTS.  Write it down in vivid detail.  Create  wallpaper for your room out of pictures of things that turn you on — wonderful experiences, treasured things, awesome places and people that  inspire you, and anything else you would bring into your reality if you had money.  It is all about being specific — relentlessly so.

2. Ask for what you desire. Go ahead.  Ask.  You are naturally going to get what you desire.  It’s not a sin or a self-centered flaw to want things.  So go ahead and meditate on it, or pray about it, or write poems or songs about it, or draw pictures about it.

Put that request out in as many forms of energy as you can mentally muster up inside.  Use your intentions and focus on those specific goals you so well defined in step one.

3. Allow it to Occur. Here’s another one that we often stumble with.  Let the universe give you what you are asking for.  Sometimes – no, make that most of the time – the universe gives us what we want in indirect ways.

Sure, you may want a better house to live in, but it’s not very likely that Federal Express is going to deliver you one with your morning paper.  Our requests come to us via different indirect circumstances, and it’s usually some time later when we slap ourselves on the forehead saying, “So THAT’S how I am going to get it!”

Don’t block off those little indicators, those little changes in your situation that tell you the gears of the universe are turning.  Be ready for those little opportunities when they come and seize them, because they are probably the result of a much larger request.

4. Be Grateful. I just talked about this one in the post before this one, so hopefully that is still fresh.  But to repeat, just be thankful for what you are experiencing.  Heck, be grateful for some stuff you don’t even find all that pleasant because it what helps us refine our goals.

Some people bitch about what they receive in life.  Others take what they receive and build upon it.  Of course, I can’t quantify this, but I have a very strong suspicion the latter variety goes through life much happier and content – not to mention much more successful.

So be thankful for what you got.  It’s part of an equation.  (At least I think it probably is.  I’m not that good at math.)

There, wasn’t that a nice little refresher course?  You will hear these basic 4 things repeated again and again in hundreds of different languages, but it all says the same thing.

So once again…. no, you don’t need to buy a bunch of  books and CDs or Law of Attraction calendars and posters to help get this stuff working for you.  If you feel better doing that, then that’s cool.  If it helps you focus your mind’s eye, then do whatever helps – within legal limits, of course.

But all anyone really needs are these 4 little tools to get the ball rolling.  Just focus on the 4 things above and let the universe do what it naturally does.  And save your credit card for those emergencies when you really need extra chocolate on hand.

I’ll Have a Side Order of Gratitude With My Cosmic Request.

Date February 22, 2009

A critical part of the Law of Attraction has to do with gratitude.  Not just lukewarm gratitude — like the kind you’d give your aunt Martha for those argyle socks at Christmas, but real INTENSE appreciation for all things within your reality.  This is a hard-to-understand concept for some but an absolutely essential part of the Law of Attraction.

We lack certain things in our lives.  As part of the process, we focus our intentions upon bringing these things into our reality-experience.  As most LOA devotees are aware, when requesting our intentions and needs we should act as though the request has already been fulfilled.  It is essential to have the mindset that our requests are in transit, on their way to us, and we can safely assume we already have them.  No question about it.

So what does gratitude have to do with this?  I thought you’d never ask.  By feeling sincere gratitude for all the bounty within our experience we create feelings of contentment, and comfort.  These types of feelings are exactly what the LOA needs to bring you the goodies.  When we feel sincere, heartfelt thanks for the things in our lives, we are reinforcing to the universe that we are fulfilled.  And yep – you guessed it – the universe responds in kind with the same vibration and answers your request, your prayer, or your meditation.

All in all, it’s a very tight-knit system.   I just love it when a plan comes together.

Welcome To A Powerful Place
